Parental Involvement

Part of the enjoyment I get from writing this blog is the overwhelming positive response I receive from parents.  I get at least one message a day of thanks from a Mum, Dad, Grandparent and even Aunts and Uncles have messaged me. I’ve had thanks for inspiring ideas for play at home but the most touching ones have been from lonely parents, feeling a little lost in their new job role.  For me, I need to say a huge THANK YOU to YOU as you have been so kind and supportive and made me feel like I’m doing a good thing.

Through my private Facebook page, I very much encourage other parents and Early Years professionals to engage with Precious Play’s ever growing community to inspire and share with one another.  I also want to make sure I do not leave out any age group within the Early Years as I really want us ALL to play.  It has been a little tricky though with the 2-3 age group currently, as I do not have anybody within this age bracket to hand! Therefore, I offered out the opportunity for parents to ‘test out’ and play my ideas with their little ones.  Once again, I was overwhelmed with the response. So many parents and play groups wanted to get involved…

If you’re interested in being a ‘Precious Play Parent’ then please email me at preciousplay123@gmail.com

Once you’re accepted, you will receive an email with a play idea.  It will include a list of resources you need, how to set up the activity and a run down of potential learning opportunities.  Once you have played the idea, I will need you to write about what happened and include photographs of your little one playing.
